Marlene K. Pendroy, 79, of Monroe died Thursday, March 24, 2011, in the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
A celebration of life service took place on Sunday, March 27, at Coburn Funeral Home of Monroe with burial following at Silent City Cemetery of Monroe. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Harold and Emma (Birkenholz) Pendroy, Marlene was born on October 12, 1931 in Monroe. While growing up, she attended Union Valley Country School. Marlene loved time spent with family and friends. Those left to honor her memory are her brother, Marvin Pendroy and his wife LaVonne of Monroe and four nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harold Pendroy Jr., and one niece, Phyllis Pendroy.
