Little Ethel, the 6-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Turner, died at Dixie last Saturday. Mr. Turner had recently been appointed agent at the new station of Dixie, and his family had gone down to make him a visit, when Ethel was stricken with diphtheria and died after a week of suffering. The interment was in the Liberty Church Cemetery in Rock Creek Township, on Sunday.

Eben, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Turner, was afterward attacked by the same disease, but is now much better, and rapidly recovering. It has been a trying ordeal through which Mr. and Mrs. Turner have passed, and they have the sympathy of everybody. ~ The Newton (IA) Record, Friday, February 28, 1896, Page 1, Column 2
