Death of Mrs. Heavlin
Mrs. Arminda Heavlin, wife of Columbus A. Heavlin, died at her home in this city, Sunday morning, January 19th. Mrs. Heavlin had been in poor health for about two years but since last May her decline has been steady. She leaves her husband, three children, the youngest of whom an infant but two days old, born on Friday morning, and for which the mother gave her life.
Her maiden name was Margaret Arminda Summerlott. She was born near Eddyville in Wapello County, August 13, 1866, and was in her 30th year at her death. She was married to C. A. Heavlin, August 27, 1890. She was a member of the Congregational Church, and was fully prepared for the great change when the final summons came. The husband and three little motherless children are subjects of the tenderest sympathy of the entire community.
The funeral services were held at the residence on Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. C. Harrah. ~ The Newton Record, Friday, January 24, 1896, Page 1, Column 4
