Kathleen Joyce Woody, 71 of Newton passed away at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. Per her wishes, her body was donated to Des Moines University for medical research. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Kathleen was born May 6, 1939.
Kathleen is survived by her five children, Theresa (Dr. Paul) Rowland of Bourbonnais, IL, Lawrence Paul (Lynn) Woody of Pleasant Hill, IA, Dr. Scott (Leslie) Woody of Windsor, WI, Brad (Judy) Woody of Monroe, IA, and Andrea (Jim) Andrews of Altoona, IA; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Marjorie Van Veen of Newton, IA and JoAnn Jones of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Rosalie McClure, Delores Clark, and Mary Ann McNeese.
Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Hospice in Des Moines.
