GERALD EUGENE WHITE

Services for Gerald Eugene White, 48, of 1220 Forty-sixth St., who died Saturday at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines of injuries received in a car accident near Adair Thursday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brethren Church in Panora. Burial will be at the Brethren Cemetery there. [submitter's note: The body was reinterred at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Jasper County]

Mr. White was a clerk with the Iowa State Liquor Store in Des Moines. He was a marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Mae [Benskin] of Des Moines; three children, Marcha, Lorraine, and James, all of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren, eight stepchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; his mother, four sisters; and two brothers, including Joe White of Des Moines. ~ Des Moines Register, October 22, 1973, page 11.
