SULLY WOMAN DIES TUESDAY

Mrs. Pat O'Brien Dies After Four Weeks' Illness--Funeral Here Thursday Morning.

SULLY, Iowa. October 23--Mrs. Pat O'Brien died Tuesday morning at her home here after an illness of four weeks suffering from complications brought on by her advanced age.

Mrs. O'Brien was born in Ireland 83 years ago and came to America when but a small child. She was married in Canton, Illinois, 64 years ago last May to Pat O'Brien. Six children were born to this union..one of whom preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien came to Jasper county around a half a century ago and settled in the vicinity of Sully. They lived for years on the O'Brien farm three miles west of Sully. Leaving the farm they went to Killduff where they resided but a short time and then returned to Sully, settling in the town property, and there Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien have kept house by themselves until four weeks ago when Mrs. O'Brien was taken ill and since then their children have been at home assisting with her care.

Mrs. O'Brien was a devoted wife and mother and her long life has been spent in making her family and many friends happy. She was a prominent worker in the Catholic church.

Mrs. O'Brien is survived by her husband who is 87 years old, her five children, Mrs. Alice Shutt, of Sully, Mrs. Henry Pahre, of Sully, Mrs. George Berritt, of Minnesota, William O'Brien and James, Killduff. Thomas, a son died in 1890 and was buried in Galesburg.

Funeral services for Mrs. O'Brien will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Newton.

Burial will be made in the *Newton Catholic cemetery.
