Jeanetta W. (Bogaards) Robus, 88, of Pella died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at her residence in Pella.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the First Reformed Church in Pella. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Visitation will begin Tuesday afternoon at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Jeanetta Wilhelmina Bogaards was born on January 11, 1923, in the Sandridge vicinity north of Pella, Iowa. She was the sixth of seven children that were born to Abraham and Johanna Van Heukelom Bogaards. Jeanette attended the Sandridge Country Grade School. As a young girl, her mother taught her to be a conscientious housekeeper which she practiced her entire life.
On January 4, 1940, she was united in marriage with Norman Hall Robus at Otley, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Janice Arlene, Kenneth Eugene, Duane Ray and Connie Jo. Norman and Jeanette farmed in the Fifield vicinity and near Otley, Iowa all their married life. In 1962, they moved east of Otley where they were living when Norman passed away unexpectedly March 15, 1985, at the age of 66 years. Jeanette and Norman were looking forward to moving into Pella, Iowa the first of April, 1985. Jeanette continued with their plans and moved into 604 West Second Street. Although their lifes plans changed, she adjusted graciously and her attitude never faltered. She never met a stranger and her home was always open. She meticulously and tediously continued doing housework for various families until her death. Jeanette enjoyed going on trips with friends. For many years, she had been a member of the Otley Reformed Church in Otley where she had taught with family night activities and had been a member of the Banner Bearers. Since 1971, she had been a member of the First Reformed Church in Pella where she attended faithfully.
On Sunday morning, January 23, 2011, she passed away suddenly in her home having just recently celebrated her 88th birthday with her family whom she dearly loved: (Janice Beyer Roose), Kimberly and Jim Vande Voort, Aaron and Elizabeth Vande Voort, Evan, Adam and Megan Vande Voort, Cooper, Brant, Alyssa Vande Voort, Tamera and John Van Heukelom, Alex Current, Madison, Megan Current, Andrea, Jesse Van Heukelom, Jack, Hannah Van Heukelom, Teresa and John Rietveld, Lucas, Molly Rietveld; Kenneth and Pam (Roberts) Robus of Eddyille, Iowa, Susan and Doug Winegardner, Cory, Blaise, Brock, Brandon, Becca, Deborah and Jay Sunderman, Katelyn, Jacquelyn, Andelyn, Richard Robus, Ethan, Zachery; Duane and Lynn (Rimathe) Robus of Pella, Iowa, Amy Wells, Madison, Alex Wells, Dillon, Jordan Van Kooten; Connie and David Milligan of Pella, Iowa, Kristin and Jay Heath, Jonathan, Christopher, Benjamin, Zachary, Melissa and Ronald Brown, Gracie, Jonah. Of her original family, Jeanette leaves two sisters: Alberta (Naaktgeboren) Mitchel, presently of Knoxville, Iowa and Bernice (Jake) Sneller of Pella; two sisters-in-law: Faye (William) Bogaards of Pella and Elaine (Raymond) Robus of Heber Springs, Arkansas; along with several nieces and nephews and many friends. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Robus; her daughter, Janice (Willis) Roose; her daughter-in-law, Pamela (Kenneth) Robus; an infant granddaughter, Brenda Beyer; her parents: Abraham and Johanna Bogaards; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Jennie De Leeuw Robus and her step-father-in-law, Charles Vander Kolk; three sisters and their husbands: Martha and Peter Doornenbal, Rachel (Van Dorland) and William Uitermarkt, Mollie C. and Franklin Brom; her brother, William A. M. Bogaards; along with the following brothers-in-law: Henry Naaktgeboren, Carl Mitchel, Jake Sneller and Raymond Robus. Jeanette spent a lifetime devoted to her family and her friends.
The family would prefer memorials be given for Hospice of Pella or Crossroads of Pella, Iowa.
