ANKENY — Ann Marie Francis Jones, 81, of Ankeny, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 6:45 a.m. Jan. 12, 2011, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines.
She was born March 16, 1929, in Haverhill, Iowa, to Alphonse and Christina Knoll Pille. She married Charles Eugene Jones on Jan. 7, 1949. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1980. A graduate of Newton Senior High School in 1947, she and her husband moved to Ottumwa in 1962. She worked in medical records at St. Joseph Hospital and in the business office at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, retiring in 1991.
She had been a member of East End Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa and presently a member of Ankeny Presbyterian Church. She was active in several golf and bowling leagues and square dance clubs.
Surviving are a son, Ron (Sharon) Jones of Ankeny; three daughters, Connie (Dave) Hudson of Johnston, Judy (Patrick) Tray of Riverdale and Janet (Chuck) Gould of Ottumwa; 11 grandchildren, Kymberli (Richard) Baker of West Des Moines, Jason (Amy) Jones of Omaha, Neb., Joshua (Shannon) Jones of Ankeny, Kara (Matthew) Cole of Lexington, Ky., Michelle (Chris) Stockstrom of Ankeny, Matthew Jones of Ankeny, Melissa Hudson of Iowa City, Eric (Tamara) Hudson of Peoria, Ariz., Steven Tray of Davenport, Ann (Jeff) Pottratz of Ft. Riley, Kan., Jennifer (Nick) Beavers of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren, Kacey and Max Baker, Spencer and Tyler Jones, Maebri Cole, Serenity and Sylas Hudson, and Jacob, Ryan and Charlie Pottratz; a sister, Virginia (Eugene) Strohman of Sigourney; two brothers, Jerry Pille of Dallas, Texas, Wilfred Pille of Aurora, Ill.; a brother-in-law, William Neal of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two sisters-in-law, Eileen Pille of Urbandale and Janie Pille.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold Pille and infant Louis; a sister, Joan Neal; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Pille.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with Pastor Matthew Cole officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday. The family will be present from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to Iowa Hospice, 5650 NW Johnston Dr., Ste E, Johnston, IA 50131.
