O. LeRoy Marshall, 83, of Newton, formerly of Mingo, died on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at his home in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Memorials to the Mingo Fire Department or to the Mingo Library may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Newton; two sons, Dennis (Patty) Marshall of Milo and Darwin (Nancy) Marshall of Prairie City; two daughters, Cynthia Baldwin of Baxter and Khristine (Ken) Bragg of Gulfport, Fla.; his six grandchildren, Daron Marshall, Gerald Marshall, Jennifer Marshall, Tony Marshall, Michael Penney and David Penney; great-grandson, Johnathon Penney; step-great-granddaughter, Kaylee Farrell; his brother, Eldon Marshall of Monroe; and his three sisters, Bonnie Ryther of Newton, Pat (Clifford) Simbro of Newton and Norma Hannam of Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Orval and Mary Gertrude (Vander Schel) Marshall, and a brother, Leland Marshall.
