Martha R. “Marty” Mullihan, 69, of Collins died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at her home.
A celebration of Marty’s life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Colfax United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Colfax Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the burial at a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in Marty’s name at the Maxwell State Bank in Maxwell, Iowa, and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of William and Agnes (Hummel) Muck, Marty was born on Sept. 30, 1941, in Colfax. She graduated from Colfax High School, where she was active in basketball & softball. She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church.
Marty was a homemaker and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She spent countless hours watching her children and grandchildren play in sports. She was also an avid Hawkeye fan.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Kim (Scott) Droessler of Cedar Rapids, April (Keith) Warne of Collins and Shawn (Sarah) Mullihan of Altoona; nine grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; a sister, Myrna (Ed) Bunn of Colfax; brothers-in law, Robert Moffitt of Newton and Les Slaybaugh of Brandywine, Md.; many nieces and nephews; and her long-time best friend, Donna Marcsisak. Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Mary Ann Slaybaugh and Marilyn (Kay) Moffitt; and brother, William Robert Muck Jr.
