M. Arlene Rundall, 91, of Newton died on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at First Christian Church in Newton.
The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials to First Christian Church or to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home or at the church on the morning of the service.
Arlene, the daughter of Roy L. Sr. and Gladys F. (McWhinney) Still was born on September 22, 1919 in Newton. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1937. On Aug. 21, 1942, Arlene was united in marriage to William A. Rundall in Newton. She worked as a billing clerk for the Newton Water Department for 17 years, retiring in 1975.
Survivors include her son, Alan (Linda) Rundall of Cedar Falls; her daughter, Susan (Jim) Daniels of Newton; five grandchildren, Todd A. (JoDee) Rundall of Albany, Oregon, Tanner R. (Toni) Rundall of Cedar Falls, Travis A. (Angie) Daniels of Johnston, Kelly L. (Charlie) of Peculiar, Missouri and T J Daniels of Newton; her six great-grandchildren, Elijah, Liam, Luke, Grace, Emerson, Rilyn; sister, Maxine Benson of Cedar Rapids; and her special friends, Shirley and Mike Goodwin of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William in 2001; sister, Beulah Hofmann; and two brothers, Harold Still and Roy L. “Bud” Still Jr.
