In Loving Memory of Edith E. Wallichs

Edith E. Wallichs, the daughter of Frank E. and Ida Kathryn Long Drew, was born December 10, 1902 in Newton, Iowa. Edith was a life long resident of Newton.

On June 19, 1935, Edith was united in marriage with Harry "Swede" Wallichs in Bemidji, Minnesota. Edith was a former chief operator of the Newton Telephone Company. She also worked as a salesperson at the Younkers Department Store in Newton. Edith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1921. She ws also a member of the American Red Cross for over 33 years.

Death came to Edith on Wednesday, December 10, 1997 at Nelson Manor Nursing Home in Newton, Iowa at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry, in November of 1965; her twin brother, Edward "Jack" Drew; and her brother Leonard Drew.

Those left to honor Edith's memory include her special friends Dan and Etha Brady of Newton, Iowa and several cousins.
