LARRY R. ALLBEE KILLED IN ILLINOIS TRUCK MISHAP

A Newton truck driver, Larry R. Allbee, 25, was killed instantly in a truck accident on Ill.-2 near Erie, Ill., Wednesday.

Mr. Allbee apparently lost control of his truck on the icy road. He was employed by the Bisom Truck Lines in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The Rev. Clarence Croxford, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church in Grinnell, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

American Legion flag services will be conducted by W.K. Richardson and Shirley Sisco.

Survivors are his wife, Dawn; a daughter, Teresa Lea, 1 1/2; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray C. Allbee of Grinnell; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Locker of Fridley, Minn. and Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Lowry of Oskaloosa; a brother, Ray C. Jr. of Kirksville, Mo.; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Sadie Johnson of Montezuma and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Frost of Grinnell.

Mr. Allbee had been a member of the U.S. Army 2nd Armored Division, serving in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Grinnell.

The son of Ray C. and Mary Marie Johnson Allbee, he was born Feb. 10, 1946, in Grinnell and attended Grinnell schools.

He was married to Dawn Bryan Oct. 27, 1968, at Montezuma.
