Vesta Marguerite Best, 85, of 5245 Liberty Ave. died of heart failure Monday, September 8, 1997, at Skiff Medical Center.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Newton Union Cemetery with the Rev. Frederick Kramer, chaplain at Skiff Medical Center, officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials in Mrs. Best's name will be accepted.
The daughter of Edwin J. and Mary Hutchings Hadsall, she was born March 28, 1912, in Kensington, Kansas. She graduated from Centerville High School.
She married Charles Robert Best January 11, 1931 in Unionville, Missouri.
A longtime resident of Newton, since 1950, she worked as a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Diabetes Club in Newton.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Patricia A. of Newton and Ronald and Jenny of Waverly; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; and a brother.
