Durlay Wade Died Friday July 22
Durlay Wade, 81 died Friday, July 22, 1960, at the Gardner nursing home in this city following a gradual decline in health.
Mr. Wade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Wade was born August 30, 1878 in Lovejoy, Ill. As a child he came to Colfax and farmed in this area many years, specializing in the raising of watermelons until his retirement. He had made his home the past 22 years with his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wade.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving him is one sister, Mrs. Anne Tupper of California; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Wade of Colfax and a large number of _____________. (Crease in newspaper)
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Walters Funeral home with Rev. Charles Reed, pastor of the Baptist church conducting the service. Burial was at the Colfax Cemetery.
Miss Mable Kaldenberg was soloist and was accompanied by Miss Cindy Bell.
Bearers were Fred Wade, George Wade, Guy Wade, Mack Wade, Roy Wade and William Wade.
Flower committee – Mrs. Maude Carroll and Mrs. Oliver Haning.

Durley Wade, 81, a longtime resident of the Colfax community, died Friday at the Gardner nursing home at Colfax.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Sunday at the Walters funeral home in Colfax.
The Rev. Charles Reed, pastor of the Colfax Baptist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Colfax cemetery.
Mr. Wade is survived by nieces and nephews.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Wade, he was born August 30, 1878 in Lovejoy, Ill.
Mr. Wade came to Colfax as a child and farmed in the Colfax area for many years prior to his retirement.
