Belva B. Annis, 82, formerly of Colfax, died Thursday, July 1, 2010, in Milan, Mo.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, with burial following at the Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, July 5, at Coburn Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Memorials may be directed the Colfax Fire Department of the Howard Street Christian Church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of Theodore W. and Mildred C. (McMahon) Henning, Belva was born on Aug. 4, 1927, in Kellogg, Iowa. Belva graduated from Colfax High School in 1946. On Feb. 8, 1947, she was united in marriage to James Herbert Annis in Newton, Iowa. Belva was a member of the Howard Street Christian Church and served on the church board and as secretary.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Dianna (LaVeay) Stoltenburg of Milan, Mo., Kathleen (Steve) Tipton of Milan, Mo., Vickie (Dale) Houck of Colfax, Iowa, Joanne (Fred) Wagner of Milan, Mo., nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Ardyce Blake of Simi Valley, Calif., and Joyce (Bert) Lawton of Langley, Okla.; four sisters-in-law, Colleen Henning of Sparks, Nev., Sandy Henning of Colfax, Iowa, Joyce Patterson of Newton and Edith Peters of Corvallis, Ore.
Preceding Belva in death were her parents; her husband; twin sons, David and Dean; and three brothers, Duane Henning, Darrell Henning and Dale Henning.
