Mrs. O. E. Efnor Dies in Boone at Age of 74 years
Body to be brought to Newton for Services and Burial
Mrs. Efnor, Long Time Resident of County, Dies Following Lingering Illness
Mrs. O. E. Efnor, 74, resident of Newton and Jasper County for many years, died Sunday at midnight at the Eastern Star Home at Boone, following a lingering illness. She was in a coma from Saturday afternoon until her death.
Mrs. Efnor, who, with Mr. Efnor, had been living at the home for over a year, had been in failing health for the last year and one half. She suffered a severe shock upon learning of the sudden death of her brother, Charles Ervin, 69, of Newton, who fell dead from a stroke Dec. 27, and had been in a serious condition since. Death was caused by a complication of diseases.
The body will be brought to Newton to the Morgan Funeral Home, pending definite funeral arrangements.
Born in Ohio
Mrs. Lillie M. Efnor, daughter of William and Elsira (Fittro) Ervin, was born in Highland County, O., February 1861, and was brought to Jasper County by her parents when she was 14 years of age. Her father was a farmer and was at one time overseer of the Jasper County home for a period of eight years.
She was united in marriage to Milt B. Moberly March 29, 1882, and to this union one daughter, Claudine, was born. Mr. Moberly preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1907, when he was serving as sheriff of Jasper County and the daughter, Mrs. Loren Foreman, died 12 years ago.
On Dec. 16, 1908, she was married to Oscar E. Efnor and the couple lived at 414 East Fourth Street North until locating in Boone on Oct. 11, 1933.
Was Lodge Member
Mrs. Efnor was a member of Newton chapter No. 100, O. E. S., the Margaret Rebekah lodge, and the Methodist Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Aloeha and C. W. C. Clubs, local social group.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a grandson, Byron Foreman of Los Angeles, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Ed Donahey of Redfield, S. D., and 14 nieces and nephews. (Another sentence has been cut off)
Conduct Rites Thursday for Mrs. O. E. EfnorServices Held In Newton at Methodist Episcopal Church
Mrs. Efnor, Former Local Resident, Died Sunday at the O. E. S. Home in Boone
Funeral services for Mrs. Oscar E. Efnor, 74, were conducted from the Newton First Methodist Episcopal church Thursday at 2 p.m. by Dr. W. R. Moore, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. A brief prayer service at the Morgan Funeral Home preceded the reties.
Music for the services included a vocal solo, “Going Home,” by Fred W. Hough, and a quartet selection, “The Old Rugged Cross,” by Mrs. Fred Reeve, Mrs. L. B. Logan, Mr. Hough, and C. C. Burgess. Lois Hundling played the organ accompaniment.
The Eastern Star funeral ceremony was conducted at the close by officers of Newton Chapter No. 100, of which Mrs. Efnor was a member.
Interment was in the Newton Union Cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: Max Moberly of Kellogg, John Miller, Harry E. Sprinkle, E. E. Efnor, C. B. Francisco, and E. J. Van Nostrand.

Efnor of Minneapolis; Mrs. Ella Mudgett and daughter, Arlie, of Galesburg; Mrs. Nettie McGregor, Lynn McGregor, Leslie McGregor, Mrs. Jay Lamb, Rob, Efnor, and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Efnor of Reasnor, and Mrs. Earl Efnor and family of Bondurant.
Mrs. Lillie Efnor was born in Hillsboro, O., Feb. 9, 1961, and came to Iowa with her parents, William and Elsira Ervin, in September 1874, when she was 14 years old.
She accepted Christ in early life and united with the Pleasant Vie Methodist Church near Newton. She taught school several years in Pleasant View neighborhood.
Marriage
She was united in marriage to Milton Moberly on March 29, 1832 and the couple lived in Newton. To this union one child, Claudine, was born. Mr. Moberly was sheriff of Jasper County and after his death on Jan. 6, 1907 Mrs. Efnor completed his term of office.On Dec. 16, 1908, she was married to Oscar E. Efnor and they made their home in Newton. Mrs. Efnor’s health began to fail about three years ago, so she and Mr. Efnor moved to the O. E. S. Home at Boone. Her death occurred there Feb. 24 at 10:45 p.m., after a lingering illness.
She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal church of Newton, serving for many years as a member of the official board. Besides her church work, she was active in lodge and social organizations.
She is survived by her husband; a sister, Mrs. Ed Donahey of Redfield, S. D.; a grandson, Byron Forman of Los Angeles, Calif., and 13 nieces and one nephew. Her daughter, Mrs. L. O. Forman, preceded her in death 12 years ago. ~ Newspaper unknown.

Mrs. Efnor died Sunday at the Eastern Star home at Boone and the body was brought to Newton to the Morgan to the Morgan Funeral Home. Mr. Efnor accompanied the body.
