Henry Efnor Dead

While for weeks the death of the above named highly respected citizen of Cuba was known to be only a question of a short time every heart was saddened this morning when it was said, Henry Efnor is dead. Since the 29th day of last December he has been confined to the house with consumption, gradually wearing his life away. His death occurred at about eight o'clock this morning.

Henry Efnor was born on what is now the John Nebergall farm north of town, Jan. 18, 1850 and spent his whole life in this immediate vicinity. He was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Irwin Oct. 4, 1888. Five children were born to them, four of whom, Sammy, Jesse, George and Fred, together with the wife, survive him. For several years he has been a faithful member of the M. P. church. He was also a member of independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Knights of Pythias and the Mutual Aid. his funeral will be conducted by the first named order, assisted by the other tow, and will take place at the M. P. Church tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at three o'clock. The religious services will be conducted either by Rev. A. H. Wildney or Rev. J. A. Reichard. The casket will not be opened in the church, but will be open at the residence from 11 a. m. until 2 p.m.

Of Henry Efnor it is not necessary to deal in fulsome flattery. His life has been an open book to all this, community all his years. Honest, upright in all his dealings, outspoken in defense of the right, cheerful and jovial, the friend of everybody and everybody his friend. In his several official positions (alderman several terms and member of the school board) the question with him was ever, Is it right? He was strongly attached and faithfully devoted to his family, attesting that devotion by making ample provision for their necessities after he should be called away. His faithful wife, who has ministered so tenderly to his every want during the long months of pain, mourns deeply, but we all mourn with her. ~ Newspaper unnamed.
