Iske, Harlin – 1934-2010

Harlin Iske, 75, of Mingo died Friday, June 4, 2010, in the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Harlin E. Iske was born June 16, 1934.
Those left to honor Harlin's memory include his wife, Beverly of Mingo; 4 sons: Alfred Ray (Ellen) Iske of Safford, AZ, Randy Eugene (Cindy) Iske of Columbus, OH, Jeffrey Allen (Deanna) Iske of Newton, and Michael Lee (Rebecca) Iske of Mingo; his daughter, Karen Kay Hudson of Mingo; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and his sister, Leatha Corrine Enderson of Colfax.
Harlin was preceded in death by his parents, Fred August and Amanda Elizabeth (Leonard) Iske; and a daughter, Deborah Ann Iske.
Harlin was a lifelong farmer. He had served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, and then in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 2 years. He enjoyed fishing, talking to people, and trailer hauling. He loved life and was very strong-willed and fought hard against his cancer.
Memorials in Harlin’s name may be left at the funeral home.
