Heart Attack Fatal to Harold A. White, 55

Harold A. White passed away June 14, (1954) at Evangelical hospital in Marshalltown where he had been a patient since June 5, following a heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rhodes Methodist Church. The Rev. H. W. Artman of Marshalltown, a former pastor of the Rhodes church, officiated. Burial was in Eden Cemetery.

Mr. White spent his entire life in the Rhodes community where he was born December 24, 1898. He was the son of James Ora and Mary Haines White. In 1918 he was graduated from Melbourne high school and later served for four years in the naval reserve in World War I.

He was married January 1, 1919, to Grace Strickler of Rhodes and they made their home on a farm near Rhodes. In addition to the widow he is survived by his mother, Mrs. White; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Jayne of Warren, Ohio, Mrs. Raymond Gilgen of Monroe and JoAnna at home.

Also surviving are four brothers and a sister, Ralph of Melbourne, James of Rhodes, the Rev. John White of Oshkosh, Wis., Wilbur of Two Dot, Mont., and Mrs. Robert Parkinson of Des Moines, and five grandchildren. His father preceded him in death in 1937 and a brother, Clarence, died in 1918.

Mr. White was a member of the Rhodes Methodist Church, Eden Lodge No. 466 A. F. & A. M., and Crystal Chapter No. 11, O. E. S., at Rhodes and Signet chapter No. 38, Royal Arch Masons, and St. Aldemar Commandery No. 30, Knights Templar, at Marshalltown. ~ The Baxter New Era, Baxter, Iowa June 23, 1954
