Funeral Services for Charles Bucklin today

Charles O. Bucklin, 78, a lifelong resident of Jasper County and the Baxter area, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Newton.

Mr. Bucklin had suffered from pneumonia for the past three weeks. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home with burial at the Bethel cemetery west of Baxter.

Mr. Bucklin is survived by his wife; three sons, Charles Jr. of Ira, Norman of Des Moines, and Richard of Chicago, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

A farmer in the Baxter area, Mr. Bucklin retired in 1947 and resided north west of Baxter. the son of Ransom and Elizabeth Bucklin, he was born near Baxter October 12, 1879.

He was married June 19, 1923 to Clara Miller. He was educated in rural schools. ~ The Baxter New Era Wednesday, July 10, 1967
