STATE CENTER — Judith Fae “Judi” Rudkin, 71, of State Center, formerly of Collins, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the State Center Nursing and Rehab Center.
Judi was born Dec. 5, 1938, at Baxter, Iowa, the daughter of Millard and Daisy (Simons) Huffaker. She moved to Des Moines, Iowa, when she was 3 years of age. She was united in marriage to Charles Rudkin on Nov. 28, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa. Charles preceded Judi in death on March 8, 2001. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Newton. Judi was a farmwife and homemaker who enjoyed gardening, fishing, mushroom hunting, garage sales and telling stories.
Judi is survived by her two sons, Daniel (Carolyn “Dee Dee”) Rudkin of St. Anthony, Iowa, and Douglas (Tracy) Rudkin of Collins, Iowa; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Kenneth (Eloise) Huffaker of Nevada, Iowa.
Judi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; five infant children; three brothers, Bill, Bob and Doug; one sister, Shirley Runner; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Rudkin.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Interment will be in the Collins Evergreen Cemetery at Collins, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown.
Bacon Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
