COLFAX — Frieda E. Teed, 85, of Colfax died Friday, March 26, 2010, in the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Mass of Christian burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax with burial following at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the church. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rosary. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Jasper County, and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of George Henry and Margaret (Kennedy) Gibson, Frieda was born on Jan. 13, 1925, in Oswalt, Iowa. She was united in marriage on Sept. 2, 1948, to Orval Lloyd Teed in Blair, Neb. Frieda was a lifelong resident of Colfax and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and playing the piano, but her greatest love was being with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Pat (Ronda) Teed of Colfax, Mary (Tom) McKinney of Kellogg and Marcia (Duane) Bruxvoort of Colfax; 12 grandchildren; Mike McKinney, Troy (Mary Beth) McKinney, Chrissie (Andy) Weyenberg, Dan (Miranda) Bruxvoort, Katie Bruxvoort, Justin (Regina) Teed, Jarin Teed, Jill Dalton, Jace (Sarah) Teed, Jacob Teed, Joss Teed and Jena Teed; and 10 great grandchildren, Allison, Adam and Alex Teed, Ahren Teed, Kaden and Konner Dalton, Reese Richards, Landon and Adelyn McKinney and Claire Weyenberg.
Preceding Frieda in death were her parents; husband in 1992; sisters, Vera, Eva, Mary and Margaret; brothers, Harry, George, William and Francis; and four infant brothers and sisters.
