H. Joan Schultz, 64, of Newton died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at her home in Newton.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Priest William Conklin of Community of Christ Church in Newton officiating. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials to Iowa Hospice or the Hope Lodge may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Leslie (Andy) Jacobs of Melbourne, Iowa, and Jeannie (Jim Jr.) Ferguson of Newton; five grandchildren, Megan Schultz, Kayla Woods, Tia Mango, James Ferguson and Amanda Sites; two great-grandchildren, Dakotah Schultz and Shyanne Tiger; three brothers, Jerry (Lois) Meador of Pascagoula, Miss., Richard (Mercy) Meador of Newton and Dennis (Donna) Meador of Newton; four sisters, Syliva (John) Glaspie of Davenport, Norma (Jim) Chevelle of Davenport, Bert (Roger) Stevens of Newton and Susan (Bob) Cansler of Lyman, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith, on Sept. 6, 2008; her son, Kent Schultz, in 1986; and a sister, Eva Suckow.
