Clifford Michael "Mike" Camp, of Baxter died Saturday, March 06, 2010, at his home.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton with Mike’s uncle, David Turner, officiating. A lunch will be served beginning at 12:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be on Friday at Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kan. Memorials in Mike's name may be left at the funeral home.
The son of Clifford Lee and Mary (Turner) Camp, Mike was born May 24, 1951 in El Dorado, Kan. He was a graduate of El Dorado High School. Mike was a good athlete in high school and fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era.
Mike lived in Kansas and Nebraska prior to living in Baxter for the past 15 years. He had worked in the oil fields and the construction industry. He had worked in the Tire and Lube Express at Wal Mart for the past five years. Mike was a member of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Local 74.
Survivors include two sons, Jared (Jessica) Camp of Baxter and Scott (Danielle) Camp of Colorado; one daughter, Rachael (Nick) Danley of Newton; two grandchildren, Dylan and Daniel; his mother, Mary Turner Camp Nettles (Jim) of El Dorado, Kan.; his brother, Buster Camp of El Dorado, Kan.; and two sisters, Rhonda Camp of El Dorado, Kan., and Cathy (Mac) Diechman of Cambridge, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; father, Clifford; and brother-in-law Bruce Wilson.
