Carroll L. Case, 82, of Newton died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing in Newton.
There are no services scheduled. Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family. The Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.
The daughter of Raymond Howard and Jessie Ellen (Zimmer) McClun, Carroll was born Oct. 19, 1927 in Mystic, Iowa. She was a graduate of Newton High School and grew up in Newton.
On April 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Case in Newton. She then lived in Swan, Iowa, from 1958 to 1997. In 1997, she moved back to Newton. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She always loved to learn new things.
Survivors include two sons, K. Lance (Becky) Case of Swan, Iowa, and Kevin R. (Rhonda) Case of Iowa City, Iowa; a daughter, Sherry L. (Robert) Case of Norfolk, Va.; three grandchildren, Christopher Case of Burlington, Iowa, Jessica Rhodes of Norfolk, Va., and Levi Case of Iowa City, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Lacey Case and LeAnna Herndon; two brothers, Vernon (Barbara) McClun of Newton and Jerry (Doris) McClun of Farley, Iowa; one sister, Betty Whitehead of Meadow O’Dan, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth G. Case; two grandchildren, Amie Rhodes and Matthew Case Rhodes; and a sister, Phyllis Ray McClun.
