FRESNO, Calif. — Larry Whittaker died Feb. 21, 2010, in Fresno, Calif. He was born Dec. 6, 1935, in Newton to Marie McDermott and Don Whittaker.
Larry lived in Fresno most of his life and was founder and owner of Universal Coatings until his retirement in 2004. Larry was an avid single skier and loved teaching new pupils every summer. He was married to Donna Montie in 1974.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lori Esau and Lisa Skube; his step-children, Eric Montie and Gina Montie; 12 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; two sisters and one brother; and step-mother, Marjorie Teed.
Locally, his aunt Bernie Jensen and Uncle Joe McDermott of Newton and aunt Peg Claerhout of Arizona survive him.
