Death of Mother Woody

Mrs. Sarah Jane Woody, widow of Jeremiah Woody, died at her home in Monroe, on Thursday, May 28th, aged 77 years and 5 months. She had lived in Monroe since 1854, where in 1855 she was united in marriage with Jeremiah Woody who died in March, 1909.

She had been the mother of 9 children, 6 of whom are living: - Mr. Oliver Woody, Mrs. Vina Tice, of Monroe, Mrs. Mina Cavett, of Dennison, Ia., Mrs. Nettie Davidson of Berwick, Ia, Mrs. Susie Cox of Des Moines, and Mr. Fred Woody of Newton. She is also survived by 3 brothers and 22 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She had been a member of the Baptist church for over 55 years. ~ Newspaper unknown.
