Kurt “Skip” Weideman, 50, of Sully died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Skip’s family requests close and longtime friends share a short humorous about Skip during the service, if they so desire. The family will greet friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at the funeral home. A private family burial will be at the St. Andrews Lutheran Cemetery in rural Sully.
Memorials are to the Lynnville-Sully Athletic Department to be used for the wrestling and baseball teams. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include his two sons, Cole (Jennifer) Weideman of Virginia Beach, Va., and Kaid Weideman of Sully; his daughter, Trisha Weideman of Sully; step-granddaughter, Mackenzie; his brother, Craig (Rhea) Weideman of Virginia Beach, Va.; his sister, Jane (Jim) Vander Weerdt of Sully; two nephews, Kody (Karina) Vander Weerdt of Pella and Tanner Vander Weerdt of Sully; and niece, Betsy Vander Weerdt of Sully.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Freda I. (Adams) Weideman, and two sisters, Jenice and Denise Weideman.

Kurt “Skip” Weideman was born July 09, 1959.
Skip was a graduate of Lynnville-Sully High School in 1977.
Skip was a truck mechanic for Sully Transport. He had also done plumbing and heating work in Sully for 30+ years. Skip enjoyed his family and going to his kids sporting events. He also enjoyed fishing and another hobby the past few years was still doing plumbing and heating work for people.
