TRENTON, Mo. – Eldon Criswell, 70, of Trenton, Mo., formerly of Grinnell, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 26, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services were today, Aug. 28, at the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton. Burial was at Springer Cemetery north of Brimson, MO.

Mr. Criswell, a 70-year-old resident of 408 Sunnyside Drive in Trenton, died at his home on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009.
Mr. Criswell was born March 26, 1939 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Elmer and Linda Jane Tuggle Criswell. He attended Grinnell High School in Grinnell, IA. He lived in Grinnell and Spickard before moving to Trenton. He served in the U.S. Air Force and then worked for the Rock Island Railroad as a conductor and engineer. He was then employed by Milbanks Feed of Chillicothe as a truck driver.
He was married at Trenton on Aug. 10, 1991 to Barbara Ann Wise Meek, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by one daughter. Misty Glidewell and her husband, Jim, of Spickard; two sons, Mike Evans and his wife, Lisa, of Hanna City, Il and Ty Criswell and his wife, Ali, of Ashland; three step-daughters, Tammy Leeper and her husband, Rick, of Trenton, Wanda Urton and her husband, Jerry, of Chillicothe, and Brenda Lober and her husband, Kevin, of Cameron; five sisters, Ruth Martin of Grinnell, Audeen Thompson of Grinnell, Annalee Horstmann of Grinnell, Audrey Brand and her husband, Conrad, of Sully, IA and Cathy VanNorden and her husband, Tunny, of Sully; two brothers, Denny Criswell and his wife, Cecila, of Des Moines, IA and David Criswell and his wife, Algonda, of Galesburg; nine grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and 20 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ada Sumpter, Anita Fraker, and Edith Barkley; and three brothers, Paul, Bernard and Herman Criswell.
