Emmett Allan Hansen, 3 months, of Newton died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Greenhill Baptist Church in Waterloo with the Rev. Orville J. Erickson officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Emmett was born May 30, 2009, in Des Moines, the son of Matthew and Cherish (Engelkes) Hansen.
Survivors include his parents, Matt and Cherish Hansen of Newton; a brother, Carter; maternal grandparents, Mel and Darwin Engelkes of Holland and Eric and Sherri Ross of Wellsburg; paternal grandparents, Allan and Valorie Hansen of Holland; maternal great grandparents, Ronald and Doris Rieken of Wellsburg, Delbert and Wilma Ross of Wellsburg, and Dale and Ruth Sommerlot of Waterloo; paternal great-grandparents, JoAnn Garrett of Grundy Center, Eugene and Darlene Shuey of Conrad and Sonny and Beverly Beenken of Grundy Center; paternal great-great-grandmother, Naomi Pollock of Cedar Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his maternal great- grandparents Marion and Bernard Engelkes and paternal great-grandfathers, Leon Hansen and William Garrett.
