Juanita G. Rutledge of Newton, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing on July 19, 2009, at the age of 89. She was born April 4, 1920, in Boston, Mass., to Cheloris and Raymond Henroid.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Rutledge, her parents and one great-grandson.
She is survived by her daughter, Evonne Engleken of Newton; her son, Loran (Gail) Rutledge of New Brunswick, Canada; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Skiff Medical Center and Hospice of Jasper County for their care and attention to Juanita in her final days.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1405 N. 11th AVe. E. in Newton.
Internment will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 3 at Newton Union Cemetery veterans section.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations are being accepted for a charity of donor’s choice on behalf of Juanita.
