D. C. Goodhue Was Buried Monday

D. C. Goodhue, who died very suddenly Saturday evening from heart trouble, was buried Monday in the Newton cemetery. The services were held from Morgan Funeral Home.

He was sitting in the yard at his home at the time of his death, being stricken with heart trouble and died immediately. He was one of Newton and Jasper county's pioneers and has been prominent in all the agricultural enterprises which have been carried out for more than fifty years.

He is the first of the three Goodhue boys who have past their eightieth year to die. The other two are living here and are enjoying good health.

The services were in charge of Dr. G. C. Williams, pastor of the Congregational church, of which Mr. Goodhue was an active member. The pall bearers were George Shankland, F. H. Bergman, Lambert Hall, Bert Beatty, O. H. Witmer and James Hatch. ~ The Newton Daily News, July 13, 1921, page 1, column 5.
