Lennie May Chard died Friday, July 26
Mrs. Lennie May Chard passed away Friday, July 26, 1974 in the Nursing Care Manor in Des Moines at the age of 80 years and 7 months.She was born in Miller County, Missouri December 14, 1893 to Henry and Harriet E. Sears Catron.
She was married July 1, 1914 to Benjamin Samuel Chard in Erie, Kansas at a double wedding ceremony with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Peercy.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. T. B. Wagner (Edith) of R.R. #1 Colfax; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Peercy and Mrs. Mollie McIntosh, both of Des Moines and Mrs. Lon Schubert (Odessie) of Iberia, Missouri; and one brother Clarence A. Catron of Iola, Kansas; three grandsons, Gary L. Poulson of Altoona, Mike and Randy Wagner of Valeria; two great grandchildren, Kris and Kim Poulson of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and her husband, who passed away July 22, 1973. She lived many years in Jasper County before moving to Des Moines where she resided the past 25 years at 413 South East Fifth.
Services were conducted by Rev. Charles Wilder at 2 p.m. July 29 at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial was in Greencastle Cemetery north of Colfax.
Bearers were Elvin Bailey, Walt Gulling, Keith Jones, Nick Poulson, Russell Snow, and Mack Wade.

Lennie M. Chard Dies Friday; Services Today
Funeral services for Mrs. Benjamin (Lennie Mae) Chard, 80, of 413 S. E. 5th, Des Moines, a longtime resident of Jasper County, were held today at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Charles Wilder, Pastor of the Colfax Baptist Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Greencastle Cemetery.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Pete (Edith) Wagner of Colfax; three grandsons, two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Peercy of Des Moines, Mrs. Mollie McIntosh of Des Moines and Mrs. Dessa Schubert of Iberia, Mo., and a brother, Clarence Catron of Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, July 22, 1973.
The daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Sears Catron, she was born Dec. 14, 1893 in Miller county, Mo.
She was married July 1, 1914 at Erie, Kan. She died Friday at the Dowell Manor in West Des Moines.
