KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. — Lyle L. Sutton, 72, of Kennett Square, Pa., died Friday, June 12, 2009, in Long Neck, Del.
He was the husband of Eileen Sutton, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.
Born on Sept. 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Lee and Wilma Sutton. Lyle graduated from Mingo High School in Mingo in 1954.
Before his retirement, he was a self-employed owner/operator for more than 20 years. Prior to that, he worked for the family-owned coal mining and construction businesses in Iowa. He was a member of Amvets in Long Neck, Del., and the VFW of Kennett Square.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles Sutton of Kennett Square, Pa.; daughters, Michelle Sutton of Avondale, Pa., and Aimee Sutton of West Chester, Pa.; and brothers, Jim Sutton of Colfax and Bob Sutton of Hannibal, Mo. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews as well as many friends he made throughout his life.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Restland Cemetery in Baxter. Services in Iowa are being handled by the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
