OAK ISLAND, Texas – William August Henning Sr., 68, of Oak Island, Texas, formerly of Newton, died Thursday, Sept. 30, at Baytown, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Baytown Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas. The body will be cremated.
The son of Albert C. and Minnie V. Redding Henning, he was born April 18, 1931, in Harvey, IA.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda; nine daughters and five sons-in-law, Diana K. and Randy Wagner of Lambs Grove, Mary Ann Hawkins of Newton, Cathy L. McDaniels of Houston, Texas, Marita J. and Albert Jackson of LaPorte, Texas, Pamela J. and Stephen Busick of West Des Moines, Michelle M. and Tyrone Heslep of Brookline Station, Mo., Patricia L. and Christopher Drews of Claremore, Okla., and Juanita and Wanda Henning, both of Pensacola, Fla.; three sons, William August Jr. of Houston, Texas, Bruce E. of Lincoln, Neb., and J. A. of Newton; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Billy Stafford and Chrystal and Rod Walker, all of Newton; five brothers, Tommy of Chester, Vt., Bob and Helen of Cascade, Harold of Newton, Albert and Ona of Newton and James and Mary of Kellogg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, four brothers and a grandson.
