Minnie Plympton Died Tuesday at County Home
Miss Minnie Plympton, 59, died Sunday at the County Home near Newton, Iowa, where she has been a patient since 1944. She had been in failing health the past several months.The daughter of Ed and Ida May Plympton, she was born in Galesburg, Illinois, November 17th, 1890, later coming to Prairie City, Iowa, where she spent her childhood. She came to Colfax with her parents in February of 1916, the family residing on East Broadway where the Floyd Clippinger family now live.Until her health failed she worked for years at the Mason House and later at the grand Hotel as a housekeeping assistant for Mrs. E. G. Carlson. She was a member of the Colfax Christian Church.She is survived by one brother, Roy, whose residence is not known, a cousin, Dean Norris in Prairie City and other relatives in Illinois. Her mother died December 12, 1931 and her father January 9th, 1944. A sister, Violet, also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held in the Bumgardner Chapel at 10 a.m. this (Thursday) morning with Rev. Walter Goughnour officiating. Burial will be at Waveland cemetery in Prairie City.
