MONROE — Wilma A. Thomasson, 97, of Monroe died Friday, April 24, 2009, at Park Centre in Newton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April, 28, at the Monroe United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Monroe Emergency Unit. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Joseph Daniel and Clara (Decker) Shannon, Wilma was born on December 19, 1911 in Boone County, Iowa. On March 17, 1934, she was united in marriage to Delbert Thomasson at the Monroe Methodist Parsonage. Wilma worked as a beautician for 30 years and retired in 1990. She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, Today’s Club and Mother’s Club.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Shirley (Jack) Farver of Winterset, Sue (Delwin) Antle of Newton and Lynn (Kathy) Thomasson of Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Kevin Farver and his fiancée, Lisa Munsey, of Atlantic, Kent (Michelle) Farver of Johnston, Shane (Tara) Antle of Allaman, Iowa, Steve (Tina) Antle of Newton, Jeff (Brandy) Thomasson of Desoto, Kansas , Aubrey Thomasson of Olathe, Kansas, and Jody Thomasson of Kansas City, Missouri; 10 great grandchildren, Austin Farver, Nolan Farver, Zach Antle, Kendall Antle, Matthew Antle, Bailey Thomasson, Jacob Thomasson, Brooklyn Thomasson, Chas Antle and Kaitlyn Antle. Preceding Wilma in death were her parents, husband, two brothers, a sister and a grand son, Jon Farver.
