MONROE — David Parker, 54, of Monroe died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Monroe at 10 a.m.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home of Monroe, with family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Dave Parker Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The son of Albert and Lucy (Daines) Parker, Dave was born on July 3, 1954, in Knoxville. Dave worked as a machinist and had passion for working on hotrod cars. Dave also was a graphic artist.
When not working, Dave loved spending time with his most treasured possession: his boys and his family. Dave especially enjoyed playing pranks on those he loved most.
Those left to honor his memory are his two sons, Curtis Parker of Newton and Colton Parker of Monroe, and five siblings, Glenn Carson, Albert Parker Jr., Shirley Kinney, Suzann Blomgren and Sally Haines.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
