Colene L. West, 79, of Runnells died Friday, March 27, 2009, at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Altoona.
Funeral services will be begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City, with burial following at Lowman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Coburn Funeral Home, with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The daughter of Lloyd and Myrtle Mae (Holt) Wilcox, Colene was born on June 26, 1929, in Blackbird, Missouri. On December 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lowman R. West in Norwoodville, Iowa. Colene was a homemaker and loved being with her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Steven (Marie) West of Hebron, Indiana, Sheryl West and Craig West both of Runnells; five grandchildren, Loren (Whitney) West, Elisabeth Scovel, Christine West, Michelle West and Patricia Ball, three great grandchildren, Loren, Josie, and Sophia, and a sister Charlene (Don) Farris of Des Moines. Colene was preceded in death y her parents, husband in 2006 and four sisters, Alice Neal, Marion Donhoff, Alberta Blair and Betty Kline.
