WAUKEE — Janice “Mols” Lee Vander Werff Debartolo, 71, died on Thursday March 12, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Waukee Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday at the church in Urbandale.

Janice "Mols" Lee DeBartolo, 71, entered her eternal life on March 12, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2009, at St Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Waukee Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church, 3663 66th Street, Urbandale, Iowa with a 5 p.m. Vigil service to follow.
Jan was born in rural Jasper County, Iowa and had lived in Waukee since 1994. She was a hairdresser and had worked at Von Maur for 17 years. Most of all, Jan was a loving, mother and grandmother, her family was her life. She was a member of the Democratic Party, fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and was a big fan of the Dowling Catholic High School wrestling team. She loved animals and will be missed by her cats, E.T. and Lily.
Jan will be missed very much by her children; Theresa (Terry) Bartholomew of Waukee, Frank (Tracy) of West Des Moines, Susan DeBartolo of New York City, NY and Rick (Rita) of Johnston; her mother, Doris Vander Werff of Adel; sister, Nancy (Jerry) Burkhardt of Bagley, and her grandchildren, Katie, Tara, Ricky, Tess, Sam, Tony and Matthew and former husband, Frank (Jan) DeBartolo of Windsor Heights.
She was proceded by her father, Dick Vander Werff and nephew Derek Berkhardt.
Memorial Donations may be made to Dowling Catholic High School or the Animal Rescue League.
