Robert Buckler, 59, of Newton died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at his home in Newton
Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Newton Union Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.
Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
The son of Andrew and Edna (Robey) Buckler, Robert was born April 2, 1949, in LaPlata, Md. On Sept. 12, 1969, he was united in marriage to Virginia L. Buckler in Bellevue, Nev.
Robert worked for Mid States Ford as an outside parts salesman for 24 years. He later worked for Sioux City Truck Sales (Peterbilt) as an outside sales coordinator for three years. He served his country in the Marines Corps during Vietnam and had lived in Baxter for 30 years prior to moving to Newton for the last seven years.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Buckler of Newton; two sons, Mike Buckler of Utica, Ill., and Andy Buckler of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Robin Buckler of Newton; two grandchildren, Hanna Young and Brandon Buckler; and many brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
