JACOB STIERNEMANN, MONROE AND OTLEY AREA RESIDENT, DIES

MONROE -- Jacob Stiernemann, 71, a resident of Monroe for two years and longtime resident of Otley, died Monday at the Collins Memorial Hospital in Knoxville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.

Ronald Reeves of Des Moines will conduct services. Burial will be in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Survivors are his wife, Luretta; a daughter, Lavon Collins of Knoxville; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Stiernemann was employed by the Otley Farmers Co-op for 15 years and by Marion County for 15 years, retiring in 1973.

The son of John and Sophia Breen Stiernemann, he was born May 28, 1908 in Otley.

He was married to Luretta I. Elwood Jan. 27, 1939 in Pella.
