Ethel Shuey Altes, youngest daughter of Edd Shuey and Martha Milligan was born May 21, 1894 at Collins, Iowa, and passed away at her home near Mingo, May 8th, 1951 at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 17 days.
She was united in marriage to Carl Altes Dec. 13, 1911 at Des Moines, Iowa. To this union was born one son, Orrie Winfred. She lived her earlier married life near Mingo and Kellogg. In 1927 the family moved to North Dakota, later returning to Iowa in 1933. She was a member of the Methodist faith and loved by all who knew her.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband Carl, one son Orrie, two grandsons, Rodney and Roger, all of Mingo and one brother, Harvey Shuey of Colfax.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, one sister and one grandson.
