COLFAX — Carl L. Alderman, 69, of Colfax died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

The son of Albert and Neva (Caskey) Alderman, Carl was born on October 13, 1939, in Fremont, Iowa. He graduated from Lacy High School in 1958. On December 27, 1960, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Hill in Colfax. Carl worked at Hy Vee, the D.O.T. and participated in farmers market. Carl enjoyed traveling, gardening and riding motorcycles.
Those left to honor his memory, his loving wife of 48 years, Charlotte; his two children, Lance E. (Jane) Alderman of Ankeny and Shelly K. Alderman of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Harriet Jones of Marshalltown and a sister-in-law, Ruby Alderman of Montezuma. Preceding Carl in death was his parents and a brother, Fred.
