FRANKLIN BISSETT DIES SUNDAY; RITES TUESDAY

Franklin E. Bissett, 85, of 421 W. 3rd St. S., a long-time resident of Newton, died Sunday morning at the Jasper County Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. Arthur Campney, pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. James (Doris) Smith of Newton; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Wesley (Marie) Bissett of Hampton; and several step-children, including Harry Hodgson of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Mae Robson; his second wife, Emily Williams Hodgson; a son, Wesley; a son, David, in infancy; a grandson, James Bissett; and three brothers.

Mr. Bissett was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He was a retired salesman for the Maytag Co.

Mr. Bissett was born Aug. 14, 1887 at Deep River.
