SYLVIA JANE MOTT DIES EARLY TODAY; SERVICES MONDAY

Mrs. Fordyce L. (Sylvia Jane) Mott, 76, a Newton resident for 15 years and a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died this morning at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Toland Funeral Home.

Evangelist Jerry Reece of the Church of Christ in Unionville, Mo., will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.

Mrs. Mott will lie in state at the Toland Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday.

Survivors are a son, Ford Jr. of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Ornetta) Miller of Newton; two grandsons; a granddaughter; and three great-granddaughters.

Also surviving are a brother, G.B. Houck of Yakima, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. May Routson of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fordyce, her parents, infant twin sons and a brother, Frank Houck.

The daughter of Jacob and Liley (Lillie) Houck, she was born Nov. 16, 1890, at Otley.

She was married to Fordyce L. Mott Feb. 15, 1911 in Des Moines.

MRS. SYLVIA MOTT SERVICES CONDUCTED

Funeral services for Mrs. Fordyce L. (Sylvia Jane) Mott, 76, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, were held this afternoon at the Toland Funeral Home.

Evangelist Jerry Reece of the Church of Christ at Unionville, Mo., conducted the services. Burial was in Vandalia Cemetery.

Morris Keeney, the soloist, was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Paul Murdy.

Pallbearers were Francis Pulver, Ed Stravers, Darrel Van Gundy, Pete F. Swank, Herbert Markmann and Kenneth Clausen.

Mrs. Pete F. Swank and Mrs. Herbert Markmann were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Mott died Saturday morning at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
