Mrs. Mary W. Houck died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Cronkhite, Thursday, March 28, at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 29 days.

Mary Jane Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Williamson, was born October 29, 1837, in Delaware county, Ohio. On August 2, 1858, she was united in marriage to Lemuel Houck. To this union were born twelve children, four of whom are deceased. Those living are George, of Cordova; Jacob, of Prairie City; Mrs. Maranda Mikesell, of Red Rock; Mrs. Carrie Chambers, of Sandyville; Mrs. Minnie McKee, of Saskatchewan, Can.; Charles, of Fifield; Mrs. Ida Cronkhite, of Cordova, and Mrs. Jessie Speed, of Canada. The deceased made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Cronkhite, for the past seven years of her life, with the exception of short intervals when she was visiting with other children.

The deceased is survived by her sons and daughters, forty-eight grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was the last of a family of eight brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Houck united with the M.E. church when a young girl. After her marriage she moved to Grundy Center and from there back to Ohio for a short time. From Ohio she came to Marion county where she remained until her death.

The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, at the home of Azel Cronkhite, at Cordova. Rev. J.F. Robertson officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Price cemetery.
