LOUISVILLE, Ky. —William L. Jasper of Louisville, Ky., passed away on Oct. 25, 2008.
He was born Oct. 3, 1941, in Newton. William was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Louisville, Ky. Upon graduation from Iowa State University, William started working for the General Electric Company. William also received an MBA degree from Michigan State University.
He worked for 34 years for GE at several different locations and came to Louisville in 1981 to work in the GE Major Appliance Division. William retired from GE in 1998. Upon retirement, William volunteered with the AARP Taxaide Foundation preparing income tax returns for low income taxpayers and also volunteered doing voice recordings of books for the Blind and Dyslexic at the Louisville recording studio.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Jasper; a son, David (Shirley) Jasper; a sister, Beth (Leland) Blackledge; a granddaughter, Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 29. A committal service will be held at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton, Saturday, Nov. 8, at 1:15 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ or the Louisville, Ky, Recording Studio for the Blind and Dyslexic, Louisville, Ky.
