Colfax — Willis D. “Jeff” Brawner, 79, of Colfax died on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 7, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Mitchellville Cemetery in Mitchellville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Jeff’s name be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Glennis of Colfax; son, Jeffrey Brawner of Colfax; daughter, Deena (Doug Teska) Teter of Colfax; three grandsons, four great-grandchildren; a brother; and a sister.

Those left to honor Jeff's memory are his wife of 59+ years, Glennis; son, Jeffrey Brawner of Colfax; daughter, Deena Teter & Doug Teska of Colfax; his three grandsons, Jeffrey Brawner, Jr., Jeremiah (Tish) Teska and Joel (Sara) Teska; four great-grandchildren, Madison Marie Teska, Destiny Marie Teska, NiJoel Ryan Teska, and Xaveier Brawner; his brother, Arnold (Hilda) Brawner of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; and his sister, Mary Viter of Mt. Vernon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oland W. and Daisy F. (Kolois) Brawner; two sons, Scott Brawner in June of 2008 and Tracy Brawner in 1989; grandson, Troy Brawner; and sister, Melba Winegar.
Jeff served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Jeff was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and he was also a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa
Jeff loved being with his family. He also loved to travel. Jeff’s hobbies were collecting cars and working on them, horseback riding, and watching football. He had many, many friends and was liked by everyone. He was loved very much by his family and will never be forgotten. Jeff will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
